What is 2,5-Dichloronitrobenzene?

2,5-Dichloronitrobenzene, formally 1,4-dichloro-2-nitrobenzene, is a pale yellow crystalline solid built on a benzene ring carrying a nitro group and two chlorine substituents in a fixed relative arrangement.

That arrangement makes the molecule a reliable upstream feedstock. Catalytic or chemical reduction of the nitro group converts it cleanly to the corresponding dichloroaniline, which is the diazo component used further down the synthesis chain to build azo dyes and pigments.
