What is Ortho Chloro Para Nitro Aniline?

Ortho Chloro Para Nitro Aniline, abbreviated OCPNA, is a light yellow to brown crystalline powder built on a benzene ring carrying a chlorine atom and a nitro group positioned around the primary amino group, with minimal odour in solid form.

Its primary industrial role is as an azoic diazo component base: the amino group is diazotised and coupled onto naphthol substrates to build pigments such as Pigment Yellow types and disperse dyes such as Disperse Yellow, making OCPNA a foundational intermediate for a defined family of azo pigment chemistry.

Storage and guidelines

  • Store in tightly sealed original bags or drums in a dry environment.
  • Keep in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and moisture.
